[Supervisor],

I’d like approval to attend the GRF Summit on Security & Third-Party Risk. It has speakers covering vendor management, supply chain security, and third-party risk mitigation. There will also be sessions on cybersecurity and threat intelligence.

The event is October 7 - 8 in National Harbor, MD. I think it has good opportunities for our team:

  • Many of the speakers are opening a window into their organizations’ programs. We’ll be able to benchmark ours to what peers are doing.

  • This is a multi-sector event so I won’t just be seeing what our industry is doing to manage risk. I’ll get exposed to some completely different ways that other sectors tackle these security problems.

  • There are some premier risk management vendors presenting and showcasing tools that we can investigate.

  • The event offers an additional certification program and I can self-report 12+ continuing education credits.

  • The event is inexpensive as it’s put on by the Global Resilience Federation, a nonprofit organization. Practitioner badges are only $200 with the Early Bird rate and hotel rooms are $261 a night.

Let me know what you think. You can read more about the event at www.GRF.org.

Best,
